You cannot think of Goa and not think of beaches. As a matter of fact, Goa has 50 beaches in both North and South Goa. I am sure, you are trying to count how many you have visited. Most people love to cover the famous ones, like Baga, Calangute, Dona Paula to name a few.

Part of being a new age traveler means, extracting the hidden. For e.g. Have you been to butterfly beach in Goa or Hollant beach? If not, let’s get started on virtually exploring the hidden beaches of Goa, that will make you itch wanting to go there as soon as possible.


1. Sinquerim Beach - North Goa

Sinquerim Beach is located 13 kms from Panaji in Barsez. Touted to be the best beach in Goa and known to be the first tourist beach of North Goa. Sinquerim Beach boasts of an amazing shoreline with an extent of sand.

Beach Adventure: Water Skiing, Para- sailing, fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing.


2. Butterfly Beach - South Goa

A rather unique name for a beach, Butterfly beach got its name because of having the shape of the valley in which it is ensconced as similar to a butterfly. One of the most captivating and mysterious beaches in the South of Goa. The road to this beach is rather fascinating. It runs through a jungle, crossing 3 rivers and scaling three hills.

3. Agonda Beach - South Goa

Agonda Beach is perfect for anyone who wants to relax and laze around. It is a long pristine stretch of a beach, suitable for people who love to walk alongside the beach. This beach serves as a nesting ground for olive ridley sea turtles. A rather beautiful sight.

4. Ashwen Beach - North Goa

One of the cleanest and calmest beach in North Goa, it takes just 30 mins from Vagator to reach Ashwen Beach. A hidden gem, Ashwem beach, lets you sunbathe, swim and chill all you want. The highlight of this beach is that is the safest one of the lot.

Beach Adventure: Beach festivals, Surfing, Paragliding, Windsurfing and Jet Ski.

5. Cola Beach - South Goa

Golden sand, Large volcanic boulders with tall forest hills around the beach. One of the best sunsets can be watched from Cola Beach. It is the landscapes that add to the beauty of this beach. The road to the beach may be bumpy, but once you see the what the beach offers, you will not complain.

6. Kakolem Beach- South Goa

Also called Tiger Beach, this beach is one of the most isolated and a wild beach in whole Goa. A cool stream flows from this beach. It is not advisable to swim here, but to sit and admire its beauty, is reason enough to visit this place.

7. Velsao Beach - South Goa

Velsao Beach is a stunning beach stretching over 20 kms. The beach is so quiet and serene, you can clearly the hear the birds chirping. Sunrise and Sunsets are the highlights to this beach. Velsao beach has the most tempting beachfront café.

8. Betul Beach - South Goa

Betul Beach is the southernmost tip of the 27 kilometres long shoreline, offering panoramic view of the sea, coastline and the countryside. It is a sandy beach with plenty of palm and casurina trees. You will find many red crabs here. Though it is a secluded beach, it has quite a few travellers.

9. Galjibag Beach - South Goa

Galjibag beach, also known as turtle beach is one of the hidden gems in South Goa. The north side of the beach is protected as it is a ground for turtles nesting. With clear golden-brown sand, coconut and palm trees makes this beach, eye pleasing.

10. Hollant Beach. - South Goa

Encompassing view and land of corals. The water is so clear, that the corals are visible with a naked eye. Hollant Beach is also known as one of the most popular water sports activities in Goa making it one of the most preferred beaches for adventure junkies.
