Gujarat, a state known for its culture, its rich bandhani and Navratri wear, a state that possesses numerous city that has etched their names worldwide namely Surat, Rajkot, Madhavpur to state a few.
What is the first thing that strikes you when we take the name – Gujarat?
Rann Utsav? Kite Flying? Cuisine and tradition? Maybe so. But it is time to see Gujarat as one of the frontrunners for most visited tourist destination in India and the ever-evolving one too.
It has been over a decade that Gujarat has transformed itself and imprinted its name in the world map of travel. Gujarat is no longer about Akshardham and Bhuj alone. The kind of varied experiences you are ought to get there, makes us fail to keep calm and book a trip to ‘ New Gujarat’.

1. Butterfly park in Kevadia
Butterfly Park is a unique park situated in One Tree Hill in Kankaria in Ahmedabad. Spread across 8000 square meters of lush green land, the park is filled with trees, benches, and colourful flower beds. This butterfly park houses an array of about 150 species of flowers in addition to the in-house Skyderman Glider and Junior rides.
2. Zarwani waterfall
This campsite is situated in the Narmada District. It is 28 km from Rajpipla towards Kevadia Colony at the Narmada Dam site. One can also see the rhesus monkey and the barking deer or muntjac which are rarely found in other parts of the country. Other sightseeing areas nearby include the Zarwani waterfalls. This waterfall is an eye attraction for all waterfall lovers. The subtle sound of the water gushing down is a treat.
3. Dinosaur Fossil park
A visit to the fossil park will surely make you dig deep into the history of dinosaurs in Gujarat. One can relish this museum through digital, print and static form. The state government has not only catered to those seeking information on dinosaurs and their fossils, but also a Time Machine, 3-D film, an Interactive and amusing Dino fun for a kids area, a vivid display of Mesozoic times, souvenir shop etc. The museum will depict as many as 40 sculptures that will throw on a light on their size, shape, habits and habitat. The atrium features an exact replica of the habitat of these creatures. A step in the atrium will transport you 65 million years back.
4. Statue of unity
The Statue of Unity is 597ft tall, almost 100ft taller than China's Spring Temple Buddha, the erstwhile tallest statue (503ft). Other tallest statues in the world are Laykyun Setkyar standing Buddha in Myanmar (427ft) and Ushiku Daibutsu in Japan (394 feet) to name a few.
The statue was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018, to commemorate the 143rd birth anniversary of India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue is surrounded by a 12 square km artificial lake.
5. Wilson hills
The Wilson Hills in Dharampur district of Gujarat is one of the places which would make you witness the natural and panoramic beauty of the place.
Clouds floating close to the ground, lush green forests, pleasant climate and intriguing view of the sea from the hilltop – Wilson Hills is an ideal place for those who love to do nature photography.
Situated at a distance of 123 Km from Surat and around 54 Km from Valsad, Wilson Hills has an elevation of around 2,500 feet from the sea level. With the Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary lying close to the Wilson Hills region, it is that one place which you must visit if you are a nature lover.
6. Ratanmahal sloth bear sanctuary
This sanctuary harbours the maximum population of sloth bears in the entire state. In addition to the sloth bear, other important animals that can be seen in the sanctuary include the leopard, striped hyena, jackal, four-horned antelope, mongoose, porcupine, civet cat, jungle cat, hanuman langur etc. 147 species of birds have been recorded here with the Alexandrine parakeet, common babbler, crested serpent eagle, green pigeon, hoopoe, lesser golden-backed woodpecker, grey jungle fowl, tailor bird etc. being some common species.
